DR Big Band gives you unique music experiences in the field of tension between classical swinging big band jazz, soft ballads, new compositions and wild experiments - delivered with the energy, presence and precision of 19 fantastic musicians.

DR Big Band has been a beacon on the Danish jazz scene since 1964, and the band was at the forefront in the years when Copenhagen housed a number of legendary American jazz musicians. Today, the band still delivers the real, American big band sound - but with its own, Nordic twist.

Each season, the DR Big Band presents the audience with some of the greatest jazz stars of our time, while the band introduces completely new names, initiates innovative collaborations across genres and orders new works by young talents.
