The Royal Opera Choir is Denmark's largest professional choir. It consists of 40 singers equally divided between men and women. For large choral performances such as operas by Wagner, the permanent choir is expanded with a large number of assistants.

There is an opera choir in the main part of the opera repertoire at the Royal Theater, and the choir members rehearse during the day and participate in performances in the evening - often several different performances alternately.

It must be possible to sing in a sea of different languages, including German, French, English, Italian, Russian and Czech. The singers in the opera choir often have several different roles during just a single performance.
